After school classes

I hope everyone is getting settled into school nicely. Classes will begin when I have four kids or more signed up for a class. Scroll down to see the state of the schedule today.  Meanwhile I am enjoying the bounty of the season, getting stuff done around here, and putting up all sorts of foods from the garden.

ABOUT DOODLING
Every year when school starts up, I give parents resources in case a kid gets in trouble for doodling.  Some teachers don’t understand that when learners doodle, they are not being rude or distracted, they are actually, in many cases, visually reinforcing the lesson – listening visually.  If your artist gets in trouble for doodling in school, make sure to share these great resources with the teacher.

Why Doodling is Important

Taking notes by hand is way better than using electronics.

UPDATED POLICY
New students pay in advance for the number of classes they will attend in the month ahead. Payment is expected for last minute cancellations, though I may make exception and carry the balance over.
Make checks payable to Heidi Mayo.

Students enter through the back door, remove shoes in pantry, and come upstairs to the studio. Kids are welcome to keep a pair of indoor shoes or slippers here.

Please do not arrive too early, as I may not be available before 10 minutes before class. Please be on time for pickup, and I’ll try not to run late.
