We’re getting excited for the spring here at the Top. We’re gearing up for this year’s annual student show and auction on May 18 at Bramhall’s Country Store, And we are working to get the new house and studio done, and get this house ready to sell, too. We’ll be moving full speed ahead with the finish work, interior painting, flooring, and finish plumbing – and the studio built-ins – in hopes to be all moved by the end of August. It’ll be a tricky few months with us both working and doing all of the labor and painting, but we will pull it off.  So, we’ll be making our new nest, and refurbishing our old nest at the same time. Enjoy last week’s nests and artwork, and scroll down for the schedule.

Annual Student Exhibit

I’ll keep repeating this until I know who’s planning to be in show. So, if you’re in; please let me know.
Our 10th Annual Student Show at Bramhall’s Country Store will be opening Friday, May 18, and running two weeks through June 1. Our silent auction on May 18 will benefit the Southeastern Massachusetts Pine Barrens Alliance.  We’ll be making beautiful landscape paintings to auction off to raise money for their important environmental conservation work. Anyone who has had lessons over the past year, even if it was only a few, is welcome to participate in this awesome event where young artists get a taste of being professional, are encouraged to sell their work, and use their talents to benefit the higher good. The show will be smaller this year to accommodate our host’s space needs, so it’s likely each student will be exhibiting one piece plus the auction piece. If you plan to be in the show, just let me know, and I’ll put you on the list of exhibitors.  Here are the deadlines:
April 18 – Exhibitors have committed to participate with title of the piece they plan on showing. I need to know this so I can make the postcard and get it printed. The sooner I know, the better.
Week of April 30 we start making auction items. Kids and parents decide if they want to donate their piece to the auction. I frame them, and create a piece myself.
May 1 – Submit info (title, price or NFS) on the pieces to be exhibited. I need this info to create programs.
Parents who want to contribute to party food and such let me know what you plan to bring. We provide pizzas, plates, napkins, etc. Bramhalls provide adult libations.
May 12 – All artwork delivered to me
May 14-18 I prepare the auction and hang the show.
May 18 – 5-7 big party, opening reception & silent auction
