Congratulations, Emma Buckley, this week’s ERDG featured artist.<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0Every year a bunch of artists from the Top enter Ecological Research and Development’s Young Voices Horseshoe Crab Art competition, and every year we have a very good showing. This week’s featured artist is Emma Buckley. You can see all of the artwork here<\/a>. \u00a0ERDG is dedicated to the conservation of the world’s four horseshoe crab species, and welcome your support of their critical work.<\/p>\n

\n

Annual Student Exhibit<\/h1>\n

Our 10th Annual Student Show at\u00a0Bramhall\u2019s Country Store<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>will be opening Friday, May 18, and running two weeks through June 1. Our silent\u00a0auction on May 18 will benefit the\u00a0Southeastern Massachusetts Pine Barrens Alliance.<\/a>\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>We\u2019ll be making beautiful\u00a0landscape paintings to auction off to\u00a0raise money for their important environmental conservation work. Anyone who has had lessons over the past year, even if it was only a few, is welcome to participate in this awesome event where young artists get a taste of being professional, are encouraged to sell their work, and use their talents to benefit the higher good. The show will be smaller this year to accommodate our host\u2019s space needs, so it\u2019s likely each student will be exhibiting one piece plus the auction piece. If you\u00a0plan\u00a0to be in the show, just let me know, and I\u2019ll put you on the list of exhibitors. \u00a0Here are the deadlines:
\nApril 18<\/strong> – Exhibitors have committed to participate with title of the piece they plan on showing. I need to know this so I can make the postcard and get it printed.
\nWeek of April 30<\/strong>, we start making auction items. Kids and parents decide if they want to donate their piece to the auction.\u00a0I frame them, and create a piece myself.
\nMay 1<\/strong> – Submit info (title, price or NFS) on the pieces to be exhibited. I need this info to create programs.
\nParents who want to contribute to party food and such let me know what you plan to bring. We provide pizzas, plates, napkins, etc. Bramhalls provide adult libations.
\nMay 12 <\/strong>– All artwork delivered to me
\nMay 14-18<\/strong> I prepare the auction and hang the show.
\nMay 18<\/strong> – 5-7 big party, opening reception & silent auction<\/p>\n
