\nThis is the underpainting for my Mona. I have learned so much about these paintings – yes there is more than one Mona, and the one in the Louvre is actually three paintings with a thousand layers of paint. The coolest thing I learned is that Leonardo used this painting for\u00a0teaching over a number of years, and the title Mona Lisa<\/em> only happened after his death. Originally, the painting was called La Gioconda, <\/em>as her name was Lisa\u00a0del Giocondo, but even cooler is that Gioconda means delight or light-hearted, and the absolute lightest value on the painting is over her heart. \u00a0I’ll name my Mona self portrait Light-Hearted<\/em>.<\/p>\n
