Last week we did bodies in motion. People are always moving around, and it’s good to learn how to capture gesture.\u00a0 We’ll do another figure class before we move on to faces. But we’re all hearts and roses this week since Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity to paint roses – something every artist should know how to do. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

THE GALLERY – Twenty-five students are doing art with me this winter, and they have produced some really good art.\u00a0 I have reserved the end of the hallway near the studio door for the students’ gallery. Students are\u00a0welcome to hang their current favorite piece for a month, and then\u00a0switch it out next month.\u00a0 This is a nice way to showcase the work. The reason I have the kids work in 8.5×11 is so we can pop them into dollar store frames. I’ll make sure I have some on hand. I encourage kids to choose their best piece and bring it to hang in the gallery.
