With the Covid raging, we will continue to have classes while being smart and considerate. At this point, I think it’s critical for kids to have in-person interaction. Each class creates its own little society, and I have come to realize that much of my human connection is wrapped up in teaching these awesome young people. Having these live classes helps the kids (and me) stay emotionally healthy through this pandemic, not to mention practicing fine art. We can keep doing this. Just stay home if there’s been exposure or you’re not feeling well.

New Session for Newbies – Since all of my other classes are full, I have a tentative plan for a session of 6 Monday after school classes for newbies January 24, 31, Feb 7, 14, 28 and March 7, 4-5:30. This introductory 6-class session is $200. I sent an email to the people on the wait list, and if I have 4 interested we’ll do it. Wait list gets first dibs.

We started this still life last week. It’s complicated and quite a challenge. Artists learn how to pay attention to proportions, values, negative space, light, shadow, and reflection – to really look, and trust their eyes. More to come! Scroll down for the schedule.
