We have few rules (No Gum!) here at the Top, but expectations are very high. I am an art teacher, not a babysitter. I expect kids to have a certain level of maturity and dedication; to be their best selves; to listen and learn – because that’s what we are here to do, and we have a lot of fun, too.
Attendance Policy: I create my weekly schedule based on demand. If your kid’s name is on the list, attendance is assumed, unless I am notified 24 hours in advance. I plan the classes and materials for the students who are on the list. If there’s a no-show, we wait for the student. Payment is expected for last minute cancellations and no-shows.
Welcome to the Top! Kids come down the driveway to the side Studio Entrance door. We are a shoe-free house. Leave shoes and coats in the mud room and come upstairs. Kids are welcome to bring indoor footwear like slippers.
Dress for mess. Don’t wear your best clothes. Paint and pigments get on clothes.
WEATHER CANCELLATIONS: When Plymouth Public Schools are closed due to weather, so are we.
COVID INFO: We’ve relaxed on the masks, but kids are welcome to wear if they like. We sanitize hands upon entering the studio. We wash our hands and the things we touch often. We keep the studio well-ventilated. If someone doesn’t feel well, please stay home.
As students develop and become more independent, they’ll need materials to work outside the classroom. Here’s a materials list to grow on.
