PLEASE SHARE this with people who might want art lessons for their kids. Down & Dirty classes offer a basic fine art curriculum over the course of the school year where we strengthen drawing and observation skills, learn the power of values, composition, perspective, proportion, artistic expression, figures, portraits, and so much more. We mainly use soft pastels as they are best to facilitate fine art techniques and are the most forgiving medium.
The class schedule is shaping up nicely, but I still need a couple of artists for Monday and Tuesday to make those classes happen. Things usually fall into place with a little sharing here and there, so please share.
At this point all of the kids on the list (except the Monday newbies) are returning students who’ve been coming to my classes for years now. Jack is starting his 12th year! He was a little kindergartner when he started, and now he’s a high school junior towering over us at 6’3″ (if he hasn’t grown more over the summer). I can’t tell you just how satisfying and what an honor it is to be part of Jack’s growth and development over these years, and I thank his family for nurturing his talents and sharing him with me. He’ll outgrow me one of these days, but he’ll always be welcome at the Top.
