Some artists have finished their self portraits. Getting a likeness is one of the hardest things for an artist to do, and the annual self portraits are like the practicum for all the work we’ve been doing over the school year. Many lessons learned in the process including the fact that “failures” lead to successes and are successes in learning themselves.
ANNUAL SHOW UPDATE
Time for the kids to choose and give titles to the works they’d like to exhibit in the Annual Show. The sooner I have the info, the sooner I can pull the programs and tags together. I’m excited to be working on the postcard design. Each kid will get 4 to hand out or send.
TIMELINE
April 1 – Exhibitor list is complete! All 24 of my current students are participating.
April 30 – or sooner Need titles for the 1 or 2 artworks (and prices or NFS) for the tags and program. I encourage the kids to invent short (20 characters or fewer) interesting titles for their works, and price them if they want to sell.
May 23 – or sooner All framed artwork delivered to me so I can hang the show.
May 27 – Party & Auction! 5-7:00 at Brabo Benefits, 65 Cordage Park Circle. Artwork can be taken home at the end of the show, or picked up later at 20 Savery Ave.
Enjoy these awesome self portraits, and scroll down for the class schedule.
