Last week we did spooky paintings; this week it’s Bones Jones. We learn a lot by painting skeletons, not just anatomy but proportions, foreshortening, values, gesture, negative space, and taking a complex subject and simplifying it. We’ve been doing Bones every year for about 20 years now, and this year they’re playing poker for gold doubloons.
