Thankful

I never intended to be an art teacher; it just sort of happened. After picking up the pastels while writing Nelson Telson in 1999, I’d been teaching grownups for a few years when around 2005 Wendy Reifeiss asked if I would teach her son Payton, and the rest is history. Payton’s friends and neighbors joined my classes, and my little dining room table classes grew and evolved into the Top of the World. Over these years I’ve developed a wonderful fine art curriculum while teaching hundreds of kids. While most of my peers in their 70s have retired, I’m still enjoying a very energizing and gratifying vocation, and I am so thankful to Wendy and the families that bring their kids to me. Watching these kids grow and develop as artists and humans is the best job ever. Thank You!
