We looked at faces and expressions last week getting ready to do the biggest challenge of the year: self portraits. The kids and I learn uncountable lessons throughout this process, not just the mechanics and techniques of getting a likeness, but we learn a lot about ourselves along the way. Enjoy these expressive paintings, and scroll down for the class schedules.

11th Annual Show Update: Our auction will be benefitting the Southeastern Massachusetts Pine Barrens Alliance again this year because their important environmental work is so varied and local with projects including the Plymouth Red-bellied Cooter, Plymouth County’s very own endangered turtle, bats, moths, and the noble horseshoe crab. We are blessed to live around and in one of the three coastal pine barrens that remain on this earth, so we join SEMPBA to help preserve this globally rare ecosystem.
Our opening reception and auction will be May 10, 5-7pm at Bramhall’s Country Store. The show will run one week with pick up will be Friday May 17 at Bramhall’s. This is a great opportunity for any artist who has had lessons, even if only a few, with me over the past year to experience an exhibition and use their art for a higher good. I’ll be making reminders and updates as the date draws closer. MEANWHILE artists would be thinking about the two paintings they would like to exhibit.
